Keep destroying your nail polish before it dries? There's a nifty solution for that.

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that when doing your nails, the moments between finishing the top coat and waiting for them to dry are when you’re at your most vulnerable.

The universe works in mysterious ways, and in the hour it takes your nails to dry, everything is stacked against you.

But that’s OK, because I now have the solution to your nail-riddled problems: Polish drying drops.

Similar to the moment in which some old bloke in a lab coat discovered orange mould (aka penicillin), this was a discovery the world had to know. The premise is simple: do your base coat, colour, and topcoat as standard, and then pop a few drops all over nail.

Then you wait.

The formula coats your nail in an oily but not obtrusive residue. It moisturises and nourishes the cuticle and lets you skip that annoying, tacky stage post-mani.

(L-R) OPI's Drip Dry ($24.95), Essie's Quick E Drying Drops ($19.95), Revitanail (Instant Nail Drops ($16.69)

According to Nail Mag, the drops work as a "solvent" and instead of dissolving the polish, it "absorbs the solvents to speed up drying by about 10-15 minutes."

The more you know?

It takes roughly a minute to set, five to completely harden, before you can go about your merry way and scratch, pee, and walk through the house with grace and ease because you are no longer a slave to the polish.

Product wise, OPI's Drip Dry ($24.95) was my first love, I think Essie's Quick E version is absolutely ace, and I'm wearing Revitanail's Instant Nail Drops right now. In fact, I'm rapidly typing up these very words you are consuming and the polish is perfect.

Now dear reader, scurry forth and polish away with careless abandon, because, as they say, time is money and ain't nobody got half an hour to wait for your mani to set.

This is life with and without nails... all manicure devotees will know this to be true.
