“The story of 4 friends, two states, thousands of kilometres, raising money for Ovarian Cancer research.”
This is just the summary.
Last year, right after my 30th birthday and wedding I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.
I had fought for 13 months to be heard that I felt something was wrong. 4 doctors and 2 specialists sent me away claiming I was too young.
The 5th Dr and 3rd specialist, however, listened.
When I got the disgnosis, I was relieved in some ways as I knew I was right.
Fast forward a few months.
I had heard so much information and fundraising for breast cancer awareness but very little on Ovarian Cancer. I wanted to do something but I wasn’t sure what I could do to help Ovarian Cancer Foundation Australia.
I put the call out on my blog (And to my facebook friends) for people to help me raise awareness.
Little did I know what would come of it.
I am located in WA and three of my good friends in Melbourne contacted me and said “Let’s do an online Auction”.
Basically we put the call out to people (not necessarily just businesses) to donate goods and services.
At the end of July these items would be Auctioned off to the public and all proceeds raised would go to Ovarian Cancer research.
Overnight it has taken off and we have already received within a week many donations and a lot of support.
So from one side of the country to the other we are running what is called the “Let’s Ova-Run Cancer” Auction.
It is incredibly heart warming for me to be a part of and doing this all with thousands of kilometres separating us.
We would love to have your support and to have some coverage on what the four of us are trying to do.
I am undergoing chemotherapy presently also which makes this all the more special.
You can find us on twitter and facebook.

I hope that the success of the auction is equalled by the success of your treatment, Leanne. You certainly have the fighting spirit and plenty of reasons to give it your all.
