Parents, we don’t want to alarm you – but there’s a worldwide Lego shortage at the moment. Try not to freak out…
Yep – just in time for Christmas, The Telegraph is reporting that the Danish toymaker won’t be able to keep up with demand this year.
While Lego factories are working at full speed to try and avoid a Christmas disaster, the company has warned that many families might be left disappointed this year.
Spokesman Roar Trangbaek said:
"We will not be able to deliver all of the orders coming from customers in the remainder of the year...It is really extraordinary and it has exceeded both ours and our customers' forecasts. We are running our factories at maximum capacity and will do everything we can to meet demand."
Lego is the world's largest toy-maker, and it has factories in many different countries. The company's sales grew by 18 percent in the first half of this year alone.
If a Lego set was on your child's Christmas wishlist this year, it might be time to come up with a Plan B...
Good luck, everyone.
