'I tried the viral Korean peel-off mask that's supposed to give you glass skin.'

Glass skin in a tube? Yes, please! It felt like Christmas when I finally found the sold-out MEDI-PEEL+ Red Lacto Collagen Wrapping Mask during my trip to Korea.

Before my trip, I spent hours scrolling through TikTok, screen-shotting all the must-have products. This one definitely stood out. Anything with collagen is a big deal in the K-Beauty world, but this mask hits different from the usual collagen sheet masks. It peels off in one go and promises an unreal glow. I was sold!

So I decided to trial it so see if it's really worth the type. Here are my honest thoughts...

What is the MEDI-PEEL+ Red Lacto Collagen Wrapping Mask?

The MEDI-PEEL+ Red Lacto Collagen Wrapping Mask is a beloved K-Beauty mask designed to deliver intense hydration and a glowing complexion. Unlike traditional collagen masks, this one has a peel-off formula that promises an instant, radiant glow. Anything hydrating is an instant win for me.

This product uses a single layer of collagen wrapping to lift pores and provide a tightening effect. 

The mask claims to restore skin elasticity and give it a youthful bounce. With 70 per cent collagen, it's highly concentrated. If you're an anti-ageing enthusiast like me, you'll appreciate this ingredient. Collagen is the most important structural protein in our skin, and applying Hydrolyzed Collagen helps to quickly penetrate and plump the skin for a youthful look.

Other key ingredients include Lactobacillus Fermentation Extract, which strengthens and improves the skin microbiome, making it great for sensitive skin. Worried about irritation? The formula includes jojoba oil to keep your skin calm, comfortable, and happy.

How did you go with it?

After cleansing, I applied a thin layer of the product all over my face. As it dried, I could feel my skin tightening, giving off serious Patrick Bateman from American Psycho vibes. 

It comes out in a milky like texture when first squeezed out and then leaves a translucent, shiny film as it dries, which took about 15 minutes for me, but it can vary between 10-20 minutes depending on the thickness of the layer.

Then, it was time to peel! 

I started from my cheek and worked my way around and let me tell you, it was incredibly satisfying to peel the mask off. 

As I peeled, I noticed my skin underneath was extremely smooth, clear, and hydrated. Normally, my skin is pretty good, but it was lacking its usual glow after a few glasses of wine the night before.

I did notice that it peeled off a bit of fake tan from the night before, as it gently exfoliates your skin, too. So, if you have a fresh tan, I'd recommend waiting a couple of days before using this product. The peeling part doesn't hurt or pull out any hair; it feels gentle and was actually fun to remove.

I'd suggest peeling over your sink because it can get a bit messy. Any excess residue can be easily washed off with warm water, and the product won't get stuck to your skin. And no eyebrows were harmed during the process. 

Since it provides gentle exfoliation, I'd recommend using this product once a month. For the ultimate night-out glow, use it before applying your makeup. The formula leaves a perfect, smooth, and radiant base for your products.

The Verdict?

The day after using this product, I started receiving compliments on my skin. People complimented me on how much brighter and clearer my complexion looked. I've never had so many compliments on my skin before.

The results are like those after dermaplaning, creating a velvety canvas by removing dead skin cells and enhancing overall radiance. Plus, it feeds your skin a cocktail of great ingredients to hydrate and replenish moisture levels.

Would I use this product again? Absolutely! 

It's now a part of my weekly routine when I want to give my skin a little boost. I'm obsessed with the results and have to control myself from using it too often. 

I love how my skin feels extremely hydrated after the first use—super bouncy, soft, and glowy. Overall, my skin looks healthier and brighter.
