A flight attendant's unusual (but brilliant) $5 Kmart travel hack for keeping kids comfy on flights.

Everyone can understand, or at least sympathise with how difficult it can be to travel with children, especially on long-haul flights.

But thanks to a nifty Kmart hack, the prayers of frustrated parents and exhausted travellers may have been answered.

And it comes in the form of a $5 fleece pet bed.

Yes, that’s right. A pet bed.

A flight attendant shared the clever travel hack in the popular mothers' Facebook group, Bondi Babies, after she noticed a passenger travelling with the beds on a recent flight.

"I’m a flight attendant and just had a passenger travelling with three little kidlets,'" she wrote.

The passenger she referred to in her post bought three of the soft pet beds on board to act as makeshift pillows for her children during the flight. And according to the flight attendant, they worked a treat.

"The soft padded bits around the edge softened hard armrests, buckles etc, and also served as a pillow and leg rest."

Holly Wainwright speaks about the reality of being in a hotel room with small children.  Post continues after audio.

Whether the bed is utilised as a pillow, an arm rest or foot rest, it is easy to transport, durable, and super comfortable. You will also get change from a $10 note and it will result in a much more pleasant flight.

It's a win win for everyone, really.
