Kim Kardashian's hair just got even blonder - and this pop star inspired it.

Sometimes blonde just isn’t blonde enough.

On Friday, Kim Kardashian took her freshly-bleached hair for a spin during Paris Fashion Week. She generated countless headlines and memes in the process, but evidently this mass hysteria wasn’t sufficient to satiate Mrs Kardashian West.

So, over the weekend, Kim took her new look one step further, going from Draco Malfoy platinum to Elsa the Ice Queen white.

Not sure about you, but we suspect Kim is secretly crossing her fingers for a live-action adaptation of Frozen. That, or she was so bothered by Jared Leto turning up to Fashion Week with the same hair on Friday that she felt the need to one-up him.

The more cynical among us would assume the whole purpose of Kim's snowy white transformation was to generate publicity, because a woman with a reality television show to her name and a chart-topping rapper husband clearly doesn't have enough of that.

However, the move was apparently less calculating than that. Shocking. In an interview with People magazine, the 34-year-old admitted her big change was actually inspired an up-and-coming pop star by the name of Madonna. You might have heard of her?

“I’ve always had this image of Madonna with platinum hair in my references folder on my computer and I’ve been waiting a long time to try the look,” Kim said. “I thought what better time than right now for Paris Fashion Week.”

Learning number 1: Kim Kardashian hoards hair inspiration photos on her computer like the rest of us. Interesting.

Kim also admitted it was a fairly last-minute decision, and that she had toyed with giving pastel a try before bleaching the bejeezus out of her naturally black hair (seriously — it's alleged this blonde-to-white change took more than three hours in the salon.)

"I think it would be really fun to try that short turquoise hair that Kylie [Jenner, Kim's half-sister] has," she said. Waist training, lip plumping, hair colour... where one Kardashian goes, the others are sure to follow.

We're curious to see how far Kim takes her radical new look. Will she complete it with an undercut? Will she get sick of it in a week and undergo the excruciating process of dyeing it black again? Or will her hair give in to the sheer force of all that peroxide and simply fall out?
