Why Kim Kardashian's latest photo of North has been labelled "dangerous."

Queen of all things social media Kim Kardashian has attracted the concern of fans after posting an image of her daughter North in the bath.

In the Instagram post, North sits happily submerged in a tub filled with what appears to be glow sticks and glow bracelets.

The cute photo has gained more than half a million likes, but it has also attracted a great deal of concern from Kardashian’s followers.

A number of fans argued it was “dangerous” to put glow sticks in the bath, particularly if the sticks were to break and the fluid released.

Here are just some of the comments they’ve posted:

“Glow sticks are toxic and the fluid is in the tub.”

“It would be really tragic if one of those broke.”

“That’s not safe at all – it can poison her skin.”

“If one of those pop, she will be bathing in dangerous chemicals.”

One user even spoke about a terrifying experience they had when the fluid of a glow stick went into her eye.

“I had a terrifying experience with a glow stick. It broke in half when I cracked it and went in my eye and my eye hurt for a week and now it feels abnormal so always be safe with a glow stick,” they said.

Glow sticks are often used as tools for divers as they provide a source of light that poses no electrical risk. They’re also waterproof.

Sticks are commonly stored in packaging that lists them as ‘non-toxic’ but many are manufactured with chemicals that can prove harmful.

The fluid inside most glow sticks is likely to irritate the skin and cause other side-effects if the plastic were to break and contact were made.
