The obscure reason why Kim Kardashian regrets what she named her daughter.

The Kardashians are known for selecting obscure names for their children. While Kris Jenner took the liberty of starting all of her daughter’s names with the letter ‘K’, Kim got creative with the surname “West”.

The 37-year-old entrepreneur named her first child “North” making her child’s full name North West, but she has revealed in a new video that she actually regrets naming her youngest daughter Chicago because “it doesn’t flow”.

When Kardashian first announced the name, many commented that Chicago West sounded like the name of a TV medical drama miniseries, but the reason Kim hates it is because she prefers short names, leading her to address Chicago as “Chi” prounced “Shy”.

“Chicago just looks really long to me and doesn’t flow, so I call her Chi. That’s it, she can decide later if she wants to be called Chicago or Chi,” she said in the video on her website KimKardashianWest.com.

“But like she’s so girly. When she first came out I was like what do we name her? It was the hardest decision ever and I could not think of a name,” she added.

Kim Kardashian added that she is going to give Chicago the middle name Noel, which is the same as Kim Kardashian’s middle name, and has unofficially begun calling her daughter Chi Noel.

“I haven’t really been into middle names, but I really wanted a name that was short — a one-syllable name. Noel is my middle name, and it’s not a one-syllable name, but it’s short,” she said in the video.

The entrepreneur added that she was nervous her surrogacy would compromise her bond with Chicago, but that they share an incredible connection.

“She’s literally my twin, it’s crazy… I think because I was so nervous that having a surrogate I would lose that connection. I swear I was like God is going to be like here is your twin so you feel so connected. Yeah, it’s crazy how it works,” she said.

It’s not the first time Kim has shared that she regrets naming her daughter Chicago.

Appearing on The Ellen Show in March, Kim Kardashian said there were a few names that she really wanted to name her daughter.

She had wanted her daughter’s name to be one syllable, like North and Saint.

“Yeah, it kind of messes with me, I’m not gonna lie. I really like the one syllable thing,” Kim responded when Ellen probed her about her very particular (and now broken) naming rule.

She also shared that her other options were going to be Grace, or Jo – after her grandma Mary Jo, but eventually went with Chicago as a tribute to Kanye’s home town.

I actually have something in common with a Kardashian! Shock! I had a naming rule! But having had a short name, I went with long names with options for nicknames. I broke the rule with the last child, because we could not agree on a longer name. So my last child misses out on some syllables. I think naming regret is common, because it is such a big thing to name a human being! But once it is done it is done... until they are old enough to legally change their name by deed poll!
