Kim Kardashian’s high school best friend, celebrity stylist Simone Harouche, reportedly hid in the downstairs bathroom of the luxury Parisian apartment while Kim was robbed of $14 million in jewels.
Reports differ as to how Harouche was alerted to the fact her friend was in danger – some say Kim screamed for help, while others report she simply “heard noises” before hiding in the bathroom.
As the five armed robbers bound the reality star's wrists and locking her in a bathroom, Simone texted Kim's longtime bodyguard Pascal Duvier and her sister Kourtney Kardashian.

"She couldn't dial 911 from her phone," a source told E! News.
A look back through Kim's jewellery collection (post continues after gallery):
Mr Duvier - who has become the subject of scrutiny after he left Kim alone for the night - was escorting Kourtney and Kendall Jenner on a night out to L'Arc nightclub two miles away.
Once the men had left the apartment, Kim ran to Simone with "duct tape on her legs" and told Simone to "jump off the balcony to get free".
Kim's lavish 15-carat diamond engagement ring, two smartphones and €1000 in cash were stolen during the traumatic event.

Like Kim, Simone has since arrived back at her Los Angeles home where she lives with her husband and daughter.
Reports have also emerged that two of the five criminals were following Kardashian West closely for days prior to the heist.
"Kim Kardashian was tailed for at least three days before the robbery," a source purported to be close to French police told The Daily Mail.
"We know there was one man who pretended to be a photographer who followed the American celebrity on a motorbike to find out her whereabouts. Another man pretended to be a plain-clothed detective to try to get a seat next to her at the exclusive Ferdi restaurant on Thursday night."

Not sure you can dial 911 because it's France???
she probably knew it wasn't 911, but wasn't sure what the emergency number was in France. I know it's 000 here, 111 in NZ, 999 in the UK and 911 in the USA. Wouldn't have a clue about any others.
911 is not the emergency number in France...or anywhere else apart from the USA.
It's not the emergency number in France - I believe it's 112 for most of Europe - but 911 isn't just the US number. It's also the number for most of the rest of North America, as well as some countries in South America, Africa and the Middle East. I believe in some other countries, 911 automatically redirects to whatever the local emergency number is.
