Australian television favourite Kerri-Anne Kennerley is devastated after her husband John suffered a catastrophic fall after a party last night.
John Kennerley, Kerri-Anne’s partner of 25 years, was celebrating with his wife and friends at the Coffs Harbour Golf Club when he stumbled and fell, seriously injuring his neck in the process.
In a chilling shot just hours before the accident, Kerri-Anne posted a happy snap of the two of them in costume, clearly enjoying their night out, captioned: “I hope everyone had a fabulous time at #mardigras.”
Although no details have been released, it’s understood that John fell from a balcony at Bonville Golf Resort at Coffs Harbour, where he regularly attends celebrity golf tournaments.
Kerri-Anne’s manager Sean Anderson released a statement, reading:
“Last night John Kennerley – much loved husband of Kerri-Anne – had a fall while attending a golf event in Coffs Harbour. As a result of that fall, John has sustained a serious neck injury. John was placed into an induced coma before being flown this morning to ICU at Royal North Shore Hospital where he is currently being treated by specialists.”
Kerri-Anne and John have enjoyed a happy marriage since they wed in 1984 at Sydney’s Opera House.
The couple has overcome many health dramas over the years, both when Kerri-Anne battled breast cancer two years ago, and John as he overcame bowel cancer.
‘John and I’ve had an incredible journey together and we are more in love now than we have ever been,’ Kerri-Anne said on her 25th wedding anniversary to John in 2009.
We wish John a speedy recovery.
