We’ve always suspected there were plenty of stories in Kelly Osbourne’s head, and now we’re left with no doubt.
Why? Because Kelly O has just had the word ‘stories’ tattooed on the side of her head. Yes, the lady with the bright purple mohawk has added some ink to her already colourful cranium.
Kelly, 29, shared her tattoo journey at Shamrock Social Club – an LA tattoo parlour that has inked celebrities including Cate Blanchett, Adele and Johnny Depp – on social media.
You can tell from some of her Instagram captions she was pre-empting the inevitable negative comments her new look would attract – after all, as a co-host on Fashion Police, Ms Osbourne knows a thing or two about polarising fashion statements.
“Sorry mum and dad but I love it!” she tweeted, later adding, “My taste is not for everyone & slighty socking [sic] for some but one day you will understand what this tattoo means to me!”
You do you, Kelly. You do you. But we do have a few questions about your new ink:
1. How often will you need to shave the patch of hair over the tattoo to keep it visible?
2. Do the ‘stories’ you refer to have happy endings? Are they fictional?
3. Did it hurt?
The 29-year-old is no stranger to tatts, having worn plenty of them in her lifetime. Last year, Kelly began the process of having some of her tattoos removed because they represented facets of her teenage rebellion, self-harm, drug use and previous lovers.
But even that choice didn’t come without criticism. Many of Kelly’s “self proclaimed ex fans” labelled her a sell-out for removing her less thought-out designs. “They no longer like me because I am attempting to grow up and better myself,” she wrote on Facebook at the time.
When it comes to tattoos, you just can’t win. Especially when you have a fan base.
