Singer Kelly Clarkson has written a children's book.

Singer Kelly Clarkson can now add children’s author to her already-impressive resume.

Yesterday, the American Idol star revealed on social media that she had written a children’s book called River Rose and the Magical Lullaby.

The 33-year-old confirmed the book would be released in October – and that her 19-month-old daughter River Rose had inspired much of the story. She had previously teased fans on Instagram, saying she and her daughter would be announcing a “new project” soon. Clarkson’s website explains that the book will include an original lullaby written and performed by the star herself.

In the announcement clip, Clarkson explained how the book had come about.

“It’s kind of a cool thing to be on a plane with my daughter, we were going on trips to the UK and Asia and Australia, all these amazing places that she was too little to remember,” she began.

“Basically I started writing down these little fun stories — of like when we went to Australia and she got to hang out with some kangaroos.

“I guess my hope is for little kids to read River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and be inspired by it, and know they can achieve anything, and still dream big and make big things happen.”

Congratulations, Kelly – and all the best with your latest career move.
