This Real Housewife was set to be married. Four days before her wedding, she called it off.

A former Real Housewives star has cancelled her wedding four days before the planned nuptials.

Intrigued? Us too.

Kelly Bensimon has called off her wedding to her wealth advisor fiancé, Scott Litner, mere days before she was slated to walk down the aisle. Why? The 56-year-old Real Housewives of New York alum and successful real estate broker claims that Litner refused to sign a prenuptial agreement, which she described as "the ultimate red flag".

"I haven't come this far in business and life to start making poor decisions because of a man," she told Us Weekly.

"He of all people should have understood the need to protect each other before we tied the knot. I'm truly shocked he refused a prenup."

She went on to claim that her ex-fiancé "thought that I would enter this union without legal protections in place, that I would leave everything to faith". 

Daily Mail reports that the reality star is worth $10 million (roughly $15 million AUD). So, for a wealth advisor, it... isn't a bad plan to avoid a prenup? It totally checks out.

After ending her engagement to Litney, the reality star admitted she was "disappointed" to cancel the wedding. 

Bensimon initially confirmed the unfortunate news to Page Six. "I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I won't be moving forward with this wedding," she said.

"She was looking forward to an exciting new chapter in her life together with Scott when everything became clear to her late on Tuesday afternoon," a statement read.

The couple were set to hold two wedding parties: the first on June 29 in a small backyard wedding in Boston for loved ones, followed by a larger party in the Hamptons.

Bensimon has since left her home in New York for a holiday in Jamaica with her daughters.

Litner proposed to Bensimon after a year of dating while they were on vacation for the Fourth of July weekend in the US in 2023. "When I first met him, I didn't even say anything. I was speechless — which is not like me, I always have something to say," Bensimon told PEOPLE last year. 

"But he blew me away. He's just a really special human."

The former model was previously married to photographer Gilles Bensimon from 1997 to 2006, with the fashion couple sharing daughters Sea and Teddy together.

After making a name for herself during her modelling days, Bensimon found a cult following for her memorable three-season stint on the Real Housewives of New York, which featured several iconic clashes with Bethenny Frankel. She has since returned to the franchise for Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy, which featured some of the most memorable women from the New York series.
