Katy Perry reveals her plans for the future and they might involve the sound of tiny footsteps.
Her breakout song was “I kissed a girl and I liked it”, so it should come as little surprise that girl power advocate, Katy Perry, says she doesn’t need a man in her life to become a mum.
In speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, Katy, 29, reveals her “5-year-plan”, which may involve a child of her own, regardless of whether she has a partner or not, suggesting she may use a surrogate.
“I want to be doing that in the right time and that’s not in the next two years, you know? Maybe it’s in a five-year plan, but I need to really be able to focus 100 percent of my attention on it.’
“I don’t need a dude. It’s 2014! We are living in the future; we don’t need anything. I don’t think I’ll have to, but we’ll see. I’m not anti-men. I love men. But there is an option if someone doesn’t present himself.
“I don’t really want to take the child on tour. Not until, like, birth through five is over.”
Katy is currently single but dated musician Diplo following her split from long-term boyfriend John Mayer. Katy and her ex-husband Russell Brand announced their divorce in December 2011 after 14-months of marriage.
