Royal Watch: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrate Easter.

After a trip to Queensland, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are back in Sydney to celebrate Easter Sunday.

The future head of the Church of England and his wife attended church at St Andrew’s Cathedral, in Sydney’s CBD. Clarence House tweeted this picture of the pair being greeted by Anglican Archbishop of Sydney The Most Rev. Dr Glenn Davies and the Very Rev. Phillip Jensen, Dean of the Cathedral:

Kate wore an Alexander McQueen coat and a Jane Taylor hat for the occasion.

The royals were joined at the celebration by Prime Minister Tony Abbott, and his wife Margie. Over 800 of St Andrew’s parishioners were also in attendance.

This afternoon, the Duke and Duchess will sign the Fleet Bible, the text used in Australia’s first official Christian service back in 1788. Various members of the royal family have already signed the book, including the Queen in 1954.

The formalities are in contrast to the rugby union game that the pair attended yesterday on a rare night off. The royal couple watched the NSW Waratahs defeat the visiting South African Blue Bulls.

UPDATE 3pm:

If you’re wondering where Prince George and his adorable chubby cheeks are at today, fret not! Little George skipped all of the fun of a high church Easter Sunday service and went straight to the good stuff: a day out at Taronga Zoo, on Sydney’s North Shore.

Here’s a picture of the little royal arriving at the zoo with his mum and dad:

And here he is meeting George the bilby, who was named in his honour:

(For those of you who are looking at that freaking out over how ridiculously gorgeous Duchess Catherine’s dress is, alas, it is by a designer who does not want to be named.)

Her dress is very pretty - she seems to have a penchant for Broderie Anglais. But I'm enchanted by His Royal Cuteness. What a sweet looking and energetic little baby.

Never mind the designer-why does she have a dress like that on at the zoo!?
