A sneak peek for Stan Original Series C*A*U*G*H*T is here and it stars... Karl Stefanovic?

A sneak peek of Karl Stefanovic, Rebecca Breeds, Kick Gurry and Ariel Donoghue in the Stan Original Series C*A*U*G*H*T has been released, offering another look at what is set to be a wildly unique series.

The clip shows Stefanovic, playing a fictionalised version of himself, hosting Today alongside Breeds (Clarice) as his co-host Julie - oops, we mean Josie.

Stefanovic and Breeds join an already absolutely stacked cast, led by creator and producer Gurry in his directorial debut.

Alongside Sean Penn and Matthew Fox, C*A*U*G*H*T will also star Susan Sarandon (Blue Beetle), Travis Fimmel (Vikings) and Tuppence Middleton (Downton Abbey) in the six-episode series, joining Bryan Brown (Palm Beach), Ben O'Toole (Detroit), Lincoln Younes (Last King of the Cross), Alexander England (Stan Original Series Black Snow), Mel Jarnson (Mortal Kombat), Fayssal Bazzi (Stateless) and Dorian Nkono (The Twelve).

Also starring in the series are Bella Heathcote (Stan Original Series Scrublands) and Erik Thomson (Stan Original Series Black Snow)

The new video poses important questions such as 'how would broadcasting professional Karl Stefanovic respond to a death on set?' and 'can you look him in the eye?' (no).

The sneak peek follows the release of a NSFW red band trailer which gives even further insight into what promises to be an absolutely wild local series.

C*A*U*G*H*T has one of the most outlandish premises you'll ever hear: it follows four Australian soldiers (Gurry, O'Toole, England and Younes) who are sent on a secret mission to a small war-torn county called, uh, Behati-Prinsloo (if you know, you know).

There, they are mistaken for Americans, captured by freedom fighters, and produce a hostage video that goes viral.

When the soldiers reach celebrity status on social media, they realise that being caught might just be the best thing that could've happened to them.

It's going to be absurdly fun..

Sean Penn is an executive producer on the series alongside producers John Schwarz and Michael Schwarz (Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan, Stan Original Film Gold) from Deeper Water Films, and Brendan Donoghue.

The Stan Original Series C*A*U*G*H*T premieres 28 September, all episodes at once and only on Stan.
