Kanye West will remain hospitalised for much longer than anticipated as condition 'worsens'.

Rapper Kanye West will spend the Thanksgiving holiday in hospital after he was rushed in an ambulance to UCLA Medical Center with “exhaustion and sleep deprivation” earlier this week.

Now, reports suggest that West’s hospital stay will be much longer than his family and friends anticipated, with those close to the star revealing his condition is “way worse” than originally thought.

A source told PEOPLE that the 39-year-old father-of-two is "expected to stay [in hospital] for several more days".

Kim Kardashian West, 36, visited her husband in hospital on Thursday morning and "remained by his side for a few hours", the magazine reports.

The reality star was due to make her first public appearance since she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris in early October, but rushed back from New York City to be by Wests's side.

"As soon as she heard, all she cared about was getting to Kanye," a source told PEOPLE earlier this week.

"She was so worried and didn’t feel better until she was with him. She of all people knew how hard he had been pushing himself."

Despite the conflicting reports about whether Kanye's hospitalisation was voluntary, an insider said that the rapper "understands that getting help...was necessary."

"[Kanye is] starting to feel more like himself. He is resting and getting help. They are taking it day by day," an 'insider' said.
