If courting leads to putting a ring on it, then yes.
There’s a new courtship in Duggar-ville. It’s not a new relationship, or dating scene, or casual fling, it’s a courtship. Aka wedding prep.
‘Courtship’ is a time in a relationship preceding a couple’s engagement and marriage. Of course they get to spend time together first to decide if they want those wedding bells to ring, but we reckon this courtship is going to end with a happily ever after.
So, it now seems that the next Duggar in line to put on a ring on it will be 18-year-old Josiah Duggar. He announced on his Instagram account today, “I’m so excited to announce that I’m courting Marjorie Jackson! Go to PEOPLE.com for all the details!”
Jessa Seawald (his older sister) regrammed the image with a caption that said, "Another Duggar is courting! Congrats to my bro Si and his girlfriend Marjorie! @SiDuggar"
Now Josiah and his new belle, Marjorie Jackson, 17 need to get through their courting stage following all of the Duggar rules, which include: being chaperoned everywhere and using side-hugs as the only form of physical contact. Hand holding is strictly off limits until they're engaged and as for kissing - don't even think about it until you're married.
Duggar and Jackson first got to know each other when Josiah was taking Spanish lessons from Jackson's 40-year-old mother. They officially began their courting on April 6th this year (the same day his sister Jill had her baby).
"I met Marjorie a few years ago, when I was taking Spanish lessons at her house, and I was very impressed with the way she was with her siblings and her love for the Lord," Josiah told PEOPLE.
Although he had always noticed Jackson, it wasn't until the two went on a Mission trip to El Salvador in December last year that he became really drawn to her.
He told PEOPLE that that was when she really caught his eye, "That is really where I noticed her," he told the publication.
Jackson's used to having a big family around her (not as big as the 19 kids and counting though). She comes from a family of five girls and says that she took a liking to Josiah immediately.
"For me it was an immediate thing. I have always admired him and his family," she told PEOPLE.
I guess they don't say "and counting" for no reason - it looks there may be a new addition to the Duggar family soon. Hopefully they can nail their courtship and get those wedding bells ringing.
