Anna Duggar, who features on the (now cancelled) reality TV show 19 Kids and Counting, has spoken out about her experience since her husband Josh was admitted to rehab.
In a statement on the Duggar Family website, Anna describes 2015 as the “most difficult year of my life”.
“Many have asked how I am doing. So many have asked that it’s actually humbling and touching. 2015 was the most difficult year of my life.”
Josh Duggar was first admitted into a faith-based rehabilitation centre in Illinois last year after it was revealed he had a pornography addiction and had repeatedly cheated on his wife. His addiction was first made public when his account was found on the cheating website Ashley Madison.

In her statement, Anna said her trauma had strengthened her relationship with God and she also confirmed she had recently visited Josh in rehab.
“… my faith has been more precious to me than ever before. Just recently I visited Josh. It was an important step on a long difficult road. I want to thank all of you for your prayers and your messages of hope.”
Despite the deeply alarming revelations about Josh Duggar, including allegations that he had molested his younger sisters, Anna has continued to show support for her husband.
“I trust that God will continue to show His love and tenderness toward us and bring beauty from ashes — somehow — as only He can do. Please continue to pray for me, Josh and our children.”

I feel for her. She's been raised in an environment of deference to her husband, within a culture that does not accept women creating and maintaining their independence through paid employment. Sure, she could leave, but then what? Would she get to take her kids too? If so, how would she support herself and them? Wouldn't she be ostracised from everything she has known her whole life? I can see why it would be easier to stay.
Where are HER parents in all this? If it were my mum and dad, they'd have arrived, like the cavalry and stuck up for me and encouraged me to get out of dodge. Do they not value her and want her to have a happy life?
After watching her interactions with them, they'll be supportimg Josh.
