Sarah Brady shared why she waited to post Jonah Hill’s alleged texts. It’s not the reason we expected.

The fallout from Jonah Hill's ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady releasing some of the actor's alleged text messages on social media continues.

Over the weekend, the surfer and environmental activist uploaded a series of texts she allegedly received from Hill during their relationship, labelling the actor "emotionally abusive". The couple dated for a year beginning in 2021 and ending in 2022.

“This is a warning to all girls. If your partner is talking to you like this, make an exit plan," she wrote.

The alleged texts featured some alarming and controlling behaviour exhibited by Jonah in response to Sarah – a literal surfer – posting photos of herself wearing swimwear.

He also allegedly repeatedly mentioned his 'boundaries' in regards to how he expected his girlfriend to behave, which sent the internet into a spin – divided into camps saying he is misusing this term, while some corners of the web (*cough* men on Twitter *cough*) praised the 39-year-old actor for clearly defining his relationship needs.

Since posting the initial texts, Sarah has taken to her Instagram Stories to respond to some of her critics.

She shared a comment she wrote back on Instagram to someone accusing her of trying to 'cancel' her ex-boyfriend, even though their relationship started back in 2021.

The surfing instructor replied that she shared the screenshots because people often bring up her famous ex to her. "I'm tired of being polite about it," she wrote.

In a text exchange with her mother that she shared on her Instagram Stories, Sarah went on to elaborate on this point. "His name would always be tied to mine for the rest of my life no matter what. I'd rather it be tied to mine with the truth than without," she messaged.

"Without [it] I would feel like I have to continue [to] answer questions about him politely for the rest of my life and I don't want to do that anymore."

Sarah also posted a voice note to address the exact timing of the text leak. Some of her detractors had pointed out that Jonah's current partner, Olivia Millar, just gave birth in June. Jonah and Olivia started dating in August 2022.

"Not gonna lie, part of me waited until after she had given birth," Sarah said in a voice note.

"Not right after, but a little bit after, so that his current fiancée and the mother of his child, Olivia would — I just hoped that she would receive some of these screenshots somehow through friends."

She continued: "I didn't want her to have to see all of this while she was pregnant because I didn't know what kind of stress this would cause on her and her baby, physically, and everything.

"I'm sure the timing can seem bad, like, oh yeah, I waited until he had a kid — but I waited until she had her baby, so I knew they were physically not impacted by me sharing this s**t, and she could be informed and make an informed decision of how she wants to care for herself and her baby, which she birthed and she created. Yes, it's his child, but that is that woman's infant. That's how I see it."

Since Olivia has been pregnant since 2022, Sarah said this stopped her from releasing the texts immediately after their split. "I feel like this clears up why I didn't do it once I had some of these realisations a few months ago," she said.

"At this point, there's no going back. I'm not trying to slander someone's reputation. I'm literally sharing their own words."

Jonah Hill is yet to respond to Sarah's claims.
