THE actor from Game of Thrones has apologised for THAT thing that happened today.

This posts contains spoilers.

Big spoilers.

Do not watch, read, scratch or sniff this post before you have watched today’s episode of GOT.

OK, so JON SNOW IS ALIVE.

He breathed again in the final 20 seconds of today's episode of the most popular show in the world (actually, that title belongs to The Big Bang Theory, but we're ignoring that. Intentionally).

Davos, the Onion Knight, finally did what everyone wanted and asked Melissandre (who has put on her go-out face again), to revive Jon Snow. And after cutting his hair (gasp), she did. And he did. And now everything is right with the world.

BUT, that means that the actor who has been playing Jon Snow for 5 seasons LIED to everyone when he said Jon Snow was dead.

Listen to Rosie Waterland and the cast of The Binge podcast discussing this season of Game Of Thrones so far:

He lied, because the producers asked him to. As recently as March, Kit Harington told everyone that he was out of a job due to Snow's unfortunate demise. Here is what he had to say to Time Out London:

Kit Harington: 'Look, I’m not in the show any more. I’m definitely not in the new series.'

Time Out: 'So you didn’t film any new scenes?'

KH: 'I filmed some scenes of me being dead – [jokily] it’s some of my best work.'

TO: 'Do you know what happens in the series or have you lost your privileges?'

KH: 'I don’t have a clue. I know how long I’m a corpse for, but I can’t tell you that!’

LIES. All sweet, beautiful, handsome LIES.

His co-stars also lied about it. Last September, Maisie Williams’ told TVLine , “He’s dead. Sorry.”

So now Kit Harington is sorry - very sorry - and he's recorded an apology to fans for deceiving them.

"Sorry. I'd like to say sorry for lying to everyone.

"I'm glad that people were upset that he died. My biggest fear was that no one was going to care... So something that I'm doing, that the show is doing, is right."

According to his co-stars, his rebirth was tricky to film. Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth, told People it was particularly tricky for Kit when Melissandre was washing his body:

"What's tricky, especially for Kit, was during the washing the body scene," says Cunningham. "We shot it for a long time, there are a lot of different shots on it. And that's a nightmare. When you're doing a dead body it's fine, you're lying there, unless you've been running and get shot, you have to [control your breathing], (Cunningham mimics huffing and puffing and then suddenly trying to hold his breath and play dead). From an acting point of view, it's very tricky."

So there you go. Jon Snow is back. Kit Harrington is sorry. And of course we're going to forgive him. With eyes like that, how could you not?
