In just a few days, the people of Scotland will vote to decide if they would like to become an independent nation; free of the of rule of evil Queen Lizzy and her chubby-cheeked grandspawn.
And for anyone who needs a bit more info on what the hell exactly is going down over in the UK, John Oliver’s got you covered.
This is the best (and funniest) explanation we’ve seen on the Scottish independence question.
Braveheart + Love Actually + John Oliver = Scotland explained.

John f***ing Oliver, everyone. Kills it!
Being of Scots descent I hope that the Scottish vote yes for independence. The English have been a presence in Scotland for a long time and unfortunately it hasn't been good for Scotland, this is nothing against the English but unfortunately when any country invades and occupies another they usually have their own interests at heart. Traditionally they did some awful things to the Scots, but even in recent times they have done things such as impose the hated poll tax in Scotland approx a year earlier than in England (during Thstchets time) . It is also complicated by the fact that only a small percentage of Scots vote conservative as opposed to the English but because there are so many more English often the conservative govt (Tories) would get in and of course they did what they pleased to Scotland because they knew the Scots wouldn't vote for them anyway, even when the Labour govts got in it wasn't always better because they knew that whatever they did the Scots weren't likely to vote against them (though I believe this may have changed since the Scottish Nationalist party became a more viable option).
Scotland also has some natural resources such as oil (North Sea Gas) and lots of whiskey (which is actually worth a lot!).
I can't say I'm an absolute expert on all of it but put it this way they can't do a worse job of looking after themselves then England has done to them. Unfortunately though as much as most Scots in their hearts want independence some will be scared of what that means (I think some are experiencing Stockholm syndrome where they are scared of being freed!), so unfortunately many may vote against independence for that reason, but I really hope for Scotland's best future they vote Yes for independence, particularly considering the mess of things the current British conservative govt is making where unemployment is so high in Britain. BTW this isn't an attack on the English, I feel very sorry for the working class English who have to put up with their conservative governments and like the Scots are often mistreated, but at least the Scots have a chance for freedom from the English toffs so they should grab it as this opportunity may not come again.
Whether you vote yes or no, your arguments are inaccurate, simplistic and reductionist. And I say that as someone who has just come back from casting my vote...
