John Oliver's response to Brexit is very very angry and very very funny.

If there’s one person I listen to when it comes to politics, it’s John Oliver. Especially when it comes to Brexit.

Before the referendum last Thursday, the British-born comedian, political commentator and television host urged viewers to vote to keep Britain in the European Union, arguing that choosing to leave would be ‘absolutely insane.’ Of course, in a world where Donald Trump could be the next American president, and Australia wants to waste millions of dollars on a same-sex marriage plebiscite, instead of just legalizing it, it’s not surprising that the Brit’s chose the insane option.

Now, in another impassioned rant, Oliver has slammed the decision and the claim that the vote could go down in history as Britain’s ‘Independence Day.’

“First, Britain was already independent. In fact, it’s what many other countries celebrate their independence from,” Oliver argued.

“Second, the sequel to the movie [Independence Day] actually opened this week, and features the wholesale destruction of London, which is beginning to feel pretty f**king appropriate right now.”

A great deal of Oliver’s frustration was directed towards those who googled ‘What is the EU?’ and ‘What does it mean to leave the EU?’ in the wake of the UK’s decision.

"It wasn’t a practice round!" he yelled. "That was it!"

Ultimately, he finished his segment with a timely warning to America.

"You might think, ‘Well, that is not going to happen to us in America. We’re not going to listen to some ridiculously haired buffoon peddling lies and nativism in the hopes of riding a protest vote into power.’ Well, let Britain tell you it can happen. And when it does, there are no f**king do-overs."

I haven't watched the video yet but the fact is racism is at the heart of the Leave campaign and that is really foul and needs to be called out. That's not ok and I don't blame people being angry, they have every right to be. I read Politico and if I recall correctly 71% who voted Remain have a degree, 66% who voted Leave have a high school or lower education. More importantly, 75% 18 - 24 year olds voted Remain. 61% 65+ year olds voted Leave. That's not surprising, older people are far more likely to be racist but hopefully that's dying ( literally) out.
Nigel Farage is the stuff of nightmares, honestly the creepiest man alive in my opinion. Ewww he gives me the heebie jeebies, how anyone could support his views is hideous.

Hmmmm, how exactly is it racism when the majority of Europeans are white?

It has nothing to do with Europeans and whether they are white. A large part of the leave campaign was sadly aimed at stopping refugees from Britain. The refugees are from places like Syria and Iraq, they are generally not white so are unfortunately subject to racism.

Maybe people just don't like a bunch of unelected morons telling them what they can and can't do in regards to immigration and free markets.

But those elected only really represent the political party they are from and their interests, not their country.
