John Legend is not happy with his old friend Kanye West.

Just as the sun has risen in the east once more, another celebrity feud including Kanye West has erupted.

This time, it includes long-time friend and collaborator, John Legend, who was less than thrilled to see one of his oldest friends hanging out with President-elect, Donald Trump.

“I think Kanye was a publicity stunt,” Legend said during an interview on Thursday.

“I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to [Trump] about issues, but I won’t be used as a publicity stunt. I think Kanye was a publicity stunt,” the 37-year-old All of Me singer said.

West met with Trump for 15 minutes on Wednesday, travelling to Trump Towers in New York.

It was one of the first appearances West has made following his release from hospital, where he was being treated for exhaustion and insomnia.

Following the meeting, West tweeted, “I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues … These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernising curriculums, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change."

Not buying, though, Legend said, “I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump. I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country. And I think the things he’s [Trump] promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing.”

West's recent admission that he would have voted for Trump (you know, if he'd actually bothered to vote) is at odds with earlier messages.

In 2015, West posed for a photo with wife Kim Kardashian West and presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, suggesting she had her full support.

Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen (who are close friends with West and Kardashian West) both vocally threw their support behind Clinton in the weeks prior to the election.

When the Clique.tv interviewer asked Legend what may have been in Kanye's mind at the time of the visit, he simply replied, “Whatever’s in his mind, I disagree with him.”

And that, friends, is how you respond in an adult-like manner when you suddenly realise one of your best friends is not who you thought they were at all.

Not exactly a feud, more like a difference of opinion. That said, can you imagine the anarchy of a Trump/West allegiance? So much ego, not enough universe. The world as we know it would implode in a vortex of uneducated opinions, self-aggrandisement, narcissism, and (in the case of these two) financial insolvency!
