Jody Meyers case: Body found under tool shed as partner charged with her murder.

A body thought to be of missing South Australian woman Jody Meyers has been recovered from beneath a tool shed in Mannum, east of Adelaide, shortly after her partner was charged with her murder.

Mannum man Neil Archer, 29, was arrested by detectives overnight and refused bail.

Police have since found what is believed to be Ms Meyers’ body buried under concrete in a tool shed at the accused parent’s house at Mannum.

Jody Meyers was last seen in late August. Image supplied.

Ms Meyers, 20, was last seen at a house at Burdett, east of Adelaide, on the evening of August 26.

Officers investigating the alleged murder yesterday announced they had charged a woman with theft, alleging she withdrew cash from an ATM using Ms Meyers’ credit card.

The 55-year-old Mannum woman was granted bail and will face the Magistrates Court at Murray Bridge next week.

According to Detective Inspector Greg Hutchins, police yesterday “became increasingly concerned that Jody Meyer was buried under concrete in a tool shed”.

“Neil Archer presented himself at an agreed location at about 1:00am this morning, where he was arrested and charged at Murray Bridge Police Station with the murder of Jody Meyers,” he said.

“A decision was made … that police would return here to excavate the site.”

Earlier this month police searched bushland and part of the River Murray near Mannum for clues.

They also distributed flyers to rural properties between Ettrick and Mannum, urging landowners in SA’s Murraylands to review any farm gate CCTV they might have.

Mr Archer will face court in Adelaide via video link from prison in Murray Bridge today.
