Only Jennifer Lawrence could ask the Kardashians a forbidden family question.

Jennifer Lawrence does three things better than most: act in iconic movie roles, give hilarious meme-worthy responses, and fan-gurl over the Kardashians.

Lawrence has never been shy about her affection for (read: obsession with) the Kardashian and Jenner clan. In 2017, Jennifer interviewed Kim Kardashian on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to relay a story of being naked in Kris Jenner’s closet.

“I drank five martinis and wound up naked in her closet, I’m dead serious,” she said, adding it “was everything I could’ve ever dreamed of.” Sounds like!

The Silver Linings Playbook star has been vocal about being a fan of the family's reality show and she even made an unofficial cameo on Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2019 by answering Kris' phone.

“This is Jennifer f**king Lawrence, that’s who you’re talking to," she told Scott Disick in the episode.

This means that there's no one more qualified (or delightfully deranged) to interview the youngest Kardashian-Jenner sister, Kylie Jenner, in a feature for Interview Magazine

"I’ve been watching the show since I was, not to date myself, 14, so I would say I know everything about your family," she told Kylie at the start of the wide-ranging interview.

The interview was all over the shop – in the best way.

Listen to The Spill hosts discuss why Jennifer Larence really asked Kylie Jenner a forbidden question.

The actor got Kylie to admit that she has so many greyhounds (seven to be exact) because they remind her of supermodel sister, Kendall Jenner. "I love seeing little Kendalls run around, and I think they’re just funny. They just make me smile. I was never, like, a Shih Tzu Pomeranian type of girl," she said.

"I need them skinny and fast."

The Khy owner also relayed her daily routine, which involved a daily vanilla almond milk coffee waiting for her.

"Do you go downstairs and get it?" Jennifer asked.

"Of course not... It’s waiting in my kitchen."

Must be nice!

After coffee, she takes Stormi to school or makes pancakes for her two children. "My kids love my pancakes. 'Mommy’s potatoes' is what they call it."

I'm obsessed with Kylie's kids learning the word potatoes and refusing to learn the far easier (and more accurate) word pancake.

The highlight of the entire chat was a moment when Lawrence truly said what we're all thinking, but aren't brave enough to say to one of the Kardashian-Jenners.

The actor brought up how much time the family spends together which means that even during tense moments like Kim and Kourtney Kardashian's latest feud, they "can't really ever take space," away from each other.

"At the end of the day, we are all obsessed with each other and would probably choose each other as friends if we weren’t family," Kylie responded.

But then Lawrence asked “You think Kourtney would?”

In this moment, Jennifer was referencing the years that fans have watched Kourtney grow distant from the rest of her family, and often resent how much the family is motivated by money and greed.

Kylie claimed Kourtney would be friends with her family. “I do,” Jenner said back.

Lawrence then flipped the script. “Okay. We agree to disagree,” she replied.

Oop. This is not the kind of response any regular interviewer could get away with when quizzing a family as powerful as the Kardashians – and we're impressed.

Kylie went on to explain her point about Kourtney, by errr... not explaining anything.

"It’s hard to find people who understand your life. It’s such a rare thing that we’re all going through in this business and with fame, so to have each other to lean on has been really important and the reason why I’ve been able to stay humble," she said.

Later in the chat, Jennifer continued to ask the questions that aren't typically asked of the reality TV royals. “This might be too invasive of a question, but I’m curious how your kids react to security,” she pondered.

"I have two security in rotation for them and they have been with me for five-plus years," Kylie replied.

"She’s [her daughter Stormi] very familiar with them, which I feel comfortable with. She actually has a lot of love for them. I just tell my security to not make it so serious, so they have a good relationship. I’m trying to figure it out too because I never had security growing up, so I don’t know what that’s like, but I try to make it as normal and friendly as possible.”

Jenner went on to share a horror story of dealing with paparazzi while growing up in the public eye as a teenager on KUWTK. "When I was 16 and these 50-year-old men were saying, 'Hi, little slut'," to which Lawrence replied, "Oh my god."

Huge yikes all around.

Kylie added that paparazzi would try to "shoot up my skirt and jumping out of the bushes, scaring me, blocking my car. It was actually worse when I was younger."

Jennifer and Kylie discussed how they've both handled plastic surgery rumours from Instagram and TikToks dedicated to comparing their faces as teenagers to their current selves.

“I’ll see before and after photos when I’m 12 years old versus 26 and my eyebrows are filled differently," Jenner said. "I have contour on. I’m like, ‘How can you compare my 12-year-old face and say I’ve gotten my jaw shaved and eyelids removed?’ I’m like, ‘What are we talking about?’”

“I have the same thing,” Lawrence said.

“I started at 19, so I get the before and after pictures from when I’m 19 to 30 and I’m like, ‘I grew up. I lost baby weight in my face, and my face changed because I’m aging.’ Everybody thought I had a nose job, and I’m like, ‘I’ve had the exact same nose. My cheeks got smaller. Thank you for bringing it up.’”

The final juicy revelation that came from the interview was Kylie discussing Jordyn Woods, revealing that despite the public fallout over the Tristan Thompson cheating saga, they never actually stopped being friends.

"Jordyn and I, we always stayed in touch throughout the years and we would meet up at my house and catch up and just talk through everything. We never fully cut each other off, and one day, naturally, we were like, we want to get sushi and we don’t want to hide anymore," she said.

"We were so attached at the hip that we needed space to grow into the people that we were supposed to be. I needed that independence and that confidence because she was like my security blanket for so long."
