On Monday, Jennifer Aniston sent the world in to a meltdown thanks to her reunion with her former husband, Brad Pitt.
At the SAG Awards, images of the exes smiling as they see each other backstage sent waves across the internet thanks to their highly publicised marriage and subsequent divorce 15 years ago.
In the 24 hours since, "Is Jennifer Aniston married" has been trending on Google, as fans try to decipher whether a rekindling of their romance is in the near future.
People are obsessed. Including us.
So, to answer this burning question: No, Jennifer Aniston is not currently married, or in a relationship (that the public are aware of).
She was most recently married to Justin Theroux, however the two divorced in 2018.
Here is how Jennifer Aniston's relationship timeline has played out.
Tate Donovan: 1995-1998
In 1998, Tate Donovan appeared on Friends for six episodes. You may remember him in the iconic scene where Rachel Green tried to 'woo' her crush by popping on her cheerleading uniform.
But what viewers didn't know about those episodes is that Aniston and Donovan had been in a long-term relationship prior to him guest appearing, and were in the process of breaking up at the same time he was scheduled to go on the sitcom.
"I was just happy to be on the team. The only bummer was Jennifer and I were breaking up at the time," the actor told US Weekly in September 2018. "And so that was tricky to sort of act, and act like we are just meeting each other, and falling in love, or whatever, interested in each other, when we’re sort of breaking up. That was just tough."
Brad Pitt: 1998-2005
No couple in tabloid history has been discussed more than Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.
The two began dating in 1998 after being set up by their managers, before making their relationship public in September 1999 at the Emmy Awards.
In November the same year, the two became engaged and they married in July 2000.
For over four years, they were seemingly in marriage bliss. But in 2004, Pitt began filming Mr & Mrs Smith when he formed a relationship with his co-star, Angelina Jolie. Rumours spread like wildfire that the two had entered an affair.
In a later interview, Jolie admitted that film was where they "fell in love".
Pitt and Aniston announced their split in a joint statement in January 2005.
"We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another," they wrote in their public announcement. A year later, Jolie and Pitt were expecting their firstborn.
Vince Vaughn: 2005-2006
Following her split from Pitt, Aniston began dating Wedding Crashers actor Vince Vaughn, who was her co-star in the 2006 film The Breakup.
After a few months together the pair "mutually agreed" to part ways. "I call Vince my defibrillator," Aniston later told Vogue.
"He literally brought me back to life [after my divorce]. My first gasp of air was a big laugh! It was great. I love him," she said. "He was lovely and fun and perfect for the time we had together. And I needed that. And it sort of ran its course."
John Mayer: 2008-2009
After meeting at an Oscars party, singer John Mayer dated Aniston from April 2008 until March 2009.
The two had a brief split in the middle, and Mayer infamously announced to the world that he was the one who broke up with her, saying in an impromptu press conference outside a gym in New York that: "I'm the (jerk). I burned the American flag. I basically murdered an ideal".
In a 2010 interview with Playboy, Mayer further spoke about his split with Aniston, admitting he will "always be sorry that it didn’t last".
"In some ways I wish I could be with her. But I can’t change the fact that I need to be 32." There was a lot of speculation that he was suggesting Aniston, who is eight years older, was too mature for him.
Justin Theroux: 2011 - 2018
Aniston began dating actor and producer Justin Theroux in 2011. They were engaged a year later and married in a private ceremony in their Los Angeles home in 2015.
In 2016, Theroux explained to Entertainment Tonight why their relationship worked so well: "We appreciate each other's sense of humor, we respect one another, and we get along. I know it sounds simple but it's true!"
But after two and a half years of marriage, and seven years together as a couple, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced their separation in 2018.
"This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship," they said in their breakup announcement.
