Today ecstasy, MDMA and 100 other drugs are completely legal in Ireland.

Ravers, drug dealers and fans of magic mushrooms the world over are booking a one-way ticket to Ireland today.

A court has ruled that over 100 drugs, including MDMA, ecstasy and magic mushrooms are legal in the country. But only for 24 hours.

The Irish Court of Appeals legalised the drugs on Tuesday when it ruled that it’s 1977 Misuse of Drugs Act, which prohibited the substances, was unconstitutional.

Now the Irish government is scrambling to pass emergency legislation to fix this loophole. And the earliest date it can take effect is on Thursday.

The Dali (Ireland’s lower house of parliament) will sit to pass an emergency legislation to reclassify various drugs as illegal.

But until then it’s totally legal right now to go on a major bender possess some party drugs in Ireland.
