CULT BUY: The beauty powder that doesn't go on your skin, but in your stomach.

Disclaimer: No, this isn’t sponsored. For real. We just like weird things.

When it comes to funky ways to improve your skin, surely there isn’t much that’s funkier than a beauty powder that dissolves into water in the hope that when you consume it, your skin is better off for it.

But according to one Mamamia staffer, it’s this beauty powder that’s had a huge impact on her skin.

Enter: The Beauty Chef Glow Advanced Inner Beauty Powder.

According to The Beauty Chef, The Beauty Chef Glow Advanced Inner Beauty Powder is a unique bio-fermented skin supplement that combines a blend of carefully selected certified natural and organic ingredients to nourish and enhance the skin from the inside, so you get a healthy glow on the outside.

Which is all very technical and scientific and hard to understand.

Essentially, according to the actual Beauty Chef, Carla Oates, beautiful and glowing skin starts with your gut.

"Before you think about buying the latest miracle cream or speed dialing your facialist, why not invest your time and money into improving your digestive health? This will help you achieve a smooth and balanced complexion, reducing the amount of skin products you need to get your skin looking flawless and glowing," she wrote on a blogpost in 2015.

For Mamamia's own Tina, 27, she stumbled on the quirky concept while looking at Australia blogger Jenny Do's Instagram story.

"I started reading about it and thought it was worth a try to see if it improved my skin," she says.

The powder, which falls somewhere on the colour wheel between dirt brown and green isn't the most appetizing sight of all, but she says it tastes much better than it looks.

"I have a teaspoon mix with half a cup of water every morning first thing when I wake up. It has a good taste so it's easy to drink, it's takes likes berries. It can also be sprinkled over your breakfast."

Her verdict? Although it's not cheap  - it will set you back about $59.95 for 150g, which lasts about a month - It's good. Very good, in fact.

"Since using it I've noticed my complexion is a lot brighter and I'm less prone to breakouts.

"I'm onto my second month of using it and love it."
