UPDATE: Zachary Sheridan, who was listed as missing in Nepal, is safe and well.
The brother of former Packed to the Rafters star Hugh Sheridan contacted his family and posted on Facebook that he had arrived safely in Lobuche, Fairfax reports.
The Nepal earthquake’s death toll now sits at more than 4000 people.
“I am safe. I’m really sorry for everyone affected, especially my guide’s family,” he wrote.
“We’ve had no news but that it was 7.9. Communication has been down otherwise I would have obviously let you know earlier. Thanks Gran for looking over me.”

Hugh Sheridan is taking matters into his own hands to find his missing brother in Nepal.
Packed to the Rafters star, Hugh Sheridan, is traveling to Nepal to help find his brother Zachary, who was reported missing after the nation was struck by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake.
Sheridan, 29, took to Instagram to share the news with his fans and other Australians waiting to hear from loved ones.
“I will be with a small crew helping with a chopper, a dr [sic] and we will have a satellite phone available for any Australian there who needs to reach home and tell their loved ones they’re ok,” he wrote.
“Stay positive everyone, I feel optimistic that he is alive and stuck.”
Zachary was reportedly on Mount Everest when the quake struck.
The death toll following the quake has reached 3,218, the local ministry reports.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Julie Bishop said 830 Australians have been accounted for, but the total number of those missing is still unclear.

Boy, if everyone who has missing friends and relatives travel to Nepal and launch their own search do this, the strained resources of a third world country will be overstretched and the locals will miss out on help big time. How will that help?
I'm confused .. I thought one of the new stations stated that his brother had got word to them that he was safe and unharmed??
