How to remove makeup stains from your clothes.

We’ve all been there. You’ve dripped nail polish on your favourite jacket, or dropped blush all over your white shirt, or returned home after a night out to find fake tan stains all over your dress.

Makeup stains happen to good people, and good clothes, but don’t freak out — there are ways to get everything from mascara to hair dye out of your beloved garments.

Before trying any of these methods, it’s important to do a test on a small, inconspicuous area of the garment before treating the entire thing — just in case things go wrong.

Also, be sure to follow the care directions on your garment's tag. If it says dry clean only, then take it straight to the dry cleaner.

When you've washed your clothes, air-dry the fabric by either laying flat or hanging from a clothes line. Don't place the item in the dryer or iron the fabric until you are sure the stain is completely gone — if any of it remains, the heat from either of these processes will set the stain and it will be virtually impossible to remove.
