It is, at first glance, a simple photo of a young baby drinking through a straw.
Though at second glance, it’s a post that has been shared nearly 120,000 times on Facebook, and – on closer inspection – showing a hack that has mums across the world grateful.
Posting the parenting hack on her Facebook page, British mum Helena Lee wrote she too knew the struggle of trying to get a baby to take their medicine without spitting it out or refusing it altogether.
“So for the last 24 hours I’ve struggled to get Alfie to take Calpol, he has ended up covered in half of it where he spits it at me,” she wrote.
“Then I remembered seeing this trick… Not one bit got wasted and no tears. Please feel free to share with any baby mummies you know.”
The post itself, showing the syringe being fed through the baby’s bottle first, has been shared nearly 120,000 times and liked 40,000 times. Though Helena acknowledges she did not create the hack herself, she is being credited with sharing it far and wide.
