It’s a common problem nearly every woman has. So why are some getting surgery to 'fix' it?

If the lopsided cupcakes didn’t already give it away, we’re talking about uneven breasts.

“Very few women if any have breasts that are identical,” Dr Ginni Mansberg told The Glow.

“Up to a cup size in difference is actually considered normal medically speaking.”

This woman threw her boobs a goodbye party.

The subject of our erm, mammaries has come up after former Big Brother contestant Skye Wheatley revealed she is undergoing a breast augmentation to even out the two-cup difference between her left (a C-cup) and her right (an A-cup) breast. She’s undergoing surgery in Thailand this year to increase both breasts to a DD-cup she told The Daily Mail.

“They’re completely deformed. If I can fix them, why not?” Wheatley said.

“I’m a perfectionist,” she adds.”I know people will think I’m fake, but if I can fix it, heck, why not? Boyfriends have called me ‘pancake’ in the past and comments like that stick.”

Wheatley came third in the 2014 series, and has been inundated since with offers to promote everything "from bikinis to underwear" but feels like she can't promote these products with her current body shape.

"Do you know how much effort I have to go to cover up the difference in size?" she told The Daily Mail.

"Not even woman with largely different sized breasts should get surgery, however if somebody feels incredibly uncomfortable with their own body and they feel like they hate going to the beach because of it, then there’s an option available to you."

"It can – as it clearly has for Skye – impacted negatively on your self esteem. If there’s a fix, then why wouldn't you fix it?"

Dr Mansberg adds that if you’re considering any kind of surgery, it's best to always check that the surgeon is an accredited member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, before making any commitments.
