Honey Boo Boo's sister has given a tearful TV interview.

Trigger warning: This post deals with child sexual assault and may be triggering for some readers.

Update:

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell has criticised June Shannon, aka Mama June, for bringing her molester back into the family’s lives.

Cardwell, now 20, appeared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Thursday and addressed claims her mother has rekindled her romance with Mark McDaniel.

McDaniel was sentenced to 10 years in prison after abusing Anna when she was eight, as Mamamia previously reported.

“I’m mad. I’m upset. I feel betrayed. I feel very hurt,” Anna said on the program.

“She’s smiling and giggling when he’s around. You know, he’s a child molester, Mama. He did this to me. Why would you let him come around the girls knowing what he did?”

“It’s Mama’s fault. It’s her fault. She has to live with it. She has brung the past back and now she can’t get the past away now.”

Cardwell added that she has thought time and time again what she would say to McDaniel, 53, if she were to see him again.

“I would look at him in disgust and spit in his face and say, ‘You f—ing leave or I’m gonna call the cops,” she said. “You’re not supposed to be here, you know what you did.'”

In related news, TMZ has reported that Mama June won’t receive her full salary for the rest of the unaired season, because TLC network bosses believe she is  to blame for the show’s abrupt end.

TMZ reports that Honey Boo Boo and the rest of the children on the show will be paid in full.

Update:

Further distressing details have emerged about child sex allegations surrounding the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo family.

RadarOnline reports that according to Spalding County Superior Court documents obtained exclusively by the website, one of Anna’s siblings witnessed pedophile Mark McDaniel sexually abusing her 8-year-old sister Anna on at least one occasion.

The documents reveal that Anna told the officer McDaniel would molest her in Mama June’s bedroom.

The sibling was “in the bed with them when this is going on,” Officer Bauch wrote in the incident report.

Previously, Mamamia wrote:

It just gets worse.

Honey Boo Boo’s mother, June “Mama June” Shannon may or may not be dating the man who once sexually assaulted her underage daughter, but now it’s been alleged that the father of her middle daughter Jessica, is also a convicted paedophile.

Seriously. How did this family get a lucrative TV contract?

The Shannons’ show, Here comes Honey Boo Boo  was recently cancelled by TLC after the stories surfaced that Shannon was dating her ex-boyfriend Mark McDaniel, a convicted child molester who had recently been released from prison.

And now it’s being reported that Jessica, Shannon’s 17-year-old daughter, was fathered by Michael Anthony Ford – a man who was arrested in 2005 and later convicted of sexually exploiting a child over the internet.

Ford was sentenced to four years in prison and put on the sex offender registry, FOX was reportedly told by the Georgia Department of Corrections. He is currently serving prison time with 10 years on probation.

And while we take all of that in, there’s more – the fathers of Shannon’s other children also hold criminal records (although these are not related to sex offences).

Anna’s father, David Dunn was sentenced for stealing a handgun and later for stealing a carton of cigarettes. Alana’s dad, David Michael “Sugar Bear” Thompson, was also sentenced to five years for robbing and setting fire to several camp sites.

It is now being questioned whether the TLC television network did enough background research in to Honey Boo Boo and her mother’s history before the show went to air.

Honey Boo Boo and June “Mama June” Shannon came to fame when a spin-off show was created after Honey Boo Boo was noticed on the TV reality show, Toddlers and Tiaras.

Maybe the television network should have done its homework, but the biggest question is, what’s going to happen to Honey Boo Boo (and her sisters) now?

Do you think the show should have done better background checks? What do you think should happen to her children?

First of all there is no current factual statements that this Mum is dating the abuser who molested her eldest daughter. She has denied such allegations. If she is indeed dating him then comments here about her being unable to parent effectively are fair. The fact that another of the fathers of this Mother's child went on to be an abuser is not this Mother's fault or responsibility. Those who abuse are responsible for the abuse, those who know them are not responsible. Those who know about the abuse and cover it up are responsible - this includes a large portion of society. Many collude with abusers and cover up what children or protective parents say about abuse. This mother should only be criticised if she is knowingly having a relationship with a perpetrator and knowingly putting her children in harms way. Other crimes committed by men she has been in a relationship with are not her responsibility either. We need to wake up to abuse and perpetration - those who abuse are at fault and those who hide them are too. We need to know the facts before we react. Our society is filled with abusers and colluders. They are in all walks of life, not just poor people like Mama June and her family. It's easier to be outraged with this family than to look at the big picture that child sexual abuse is rife and in most families. Those who cover up are everywhere and their excuses for doing so are plentiful and multi layered! If we take anything from this case example of abuse, please let it be that we all pay attention to children around us by listening to them and taking note of those who may be harmful. Mama June may be a fool but the man who perpetrated against her daughter did 10 years jail. That's almost unheard of in Australia! Someone listened to Anna for this conviction to happen!

So Anna saying "Why would you let him come around the girls knowing what he did?" isn't enough of a factual statement for you? Not even when it's from someone in the family directly affected by it?

Well, she is knowingly having a relationship with a perpetrator. According to her, it's not a sexual/romantic relationship but she has said that she has been spending time with him and has also admitted that he has been around Alana. So she lets a man who molested her eldest daughter when she was 8 years old hang around her 9-year-old daughter. I think that's worthy of criticism.

Sidenote but Mark McDaniel did serve a prison sentence but it was not for molesting Anna. That case was dropped but he was later put away for rape, child molestation, aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and aggravated sexual battery.

The daughter is saying he's hanging around, news crew have gotten footage of him with her, they have had their tv show cancelled (the tv show would need serious evidence before doing that) it's fair to say there is more then enough evidence. But at the end of the day as a survivor of child hood sexual assault you can't be too careful it's about the children and even if she's not dating him there is proof he's hanging around and that's just as bad she's putting her children in danger and that is everybody's business.
