We can all make a difference.
Even though yesterday’s shocking Paris attacks happened on the other side of the world, we’ve all felt the impact of the events that unfolded.
The tragedy left 120 people dead, hundreds injured and millions of people shaken.
Australians have now come together in solidarity to show support for victims. Our national landmarks were lit up in the tricolour of the French flag last night, and many took part in a vigil in Martin Place.
If you’re looking to contribute, here are the places you can go:
As we all know, Red Cross aids in emergencies around the globe. Although you can’t donate directly to the French Red Cross at the moment, you can contribute to the International Federation of Red Cross and red Crescent Societies, which includes the French chapter.
If you happen to be in France, you can donate blood to the French National Blood Service. Currently, there are over 120 confirmed deaths, over 350 injured with 99 in critical condition. Every donation counts.
Support is available for Australians with friends and family in Paris:
The Australian Embassy phone number in Paris is +33140593300 for those trying to contact friends and family in the region .

And what of helping those in Beirut? I am so over this "us" and "them" outlook, and that includes the French flag on Facebook. What does that actually achieve? This whole sheeple-reaction of the masses is so racist and superficial. It's grief-porn.
People will sympathise with whoever they will - and you don't get to decide whose grief is real or fake or racist or right based on a delusional moral superiority.
Hi - would the author care to comment on how this was researched? or Jam?
