So, it looks like Harry will miss one of the 'key' coronation events. Here's what we know.

We're just over two weeks out from King Charles' coronation and there's lots of talk going on about Prince Harry.

Last week, it was confirmed the 38-year-old would be going solo to his father's coronation without his wife, Meghan, following months of speculation.

"Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey," the palace spokesperson said.

The news came after it was reported last month that Harry and Meghan were both invited to the May 6 event, despite reports the King had asked the pair to leave their UK residence days earlier.

With the coronation just weeks away, here's what we know.

Why isn't Meghan attending the coronation?

So far, all we know is that Meghan will remain in the US with her two children while Harry attends the coronation.

"The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet," the palace spokesperson confirmed last week.

The coronation also aligns with Archie's fourth birthday, which the couple's friend, Omid Scobie, said "played a factor" in the decision.

This week, a close friend to the couple reportedly told People the widespread media scrutiny also had something to do with Meghan's decision.

"Meghan wants to be there to support her father-in-law, but at the same time, the scrutiny she receives outweighs the support," they told the publication.

Meanwhile, media reports previously suggested Harry wanted an apology from his family before he agreed to attend.

When asked in one interview in January whether he would be there for his father's big day, Harry said, "There's a lot that can happen between now and then. But the door is always open."

A close friend reportedly told People, King Charles is "pleased" his son will be there but there hasn't been a wider reconciliation.

"At this point, it's become so personal," they told the publication.

"Maybe what they wanted wasn't achieved, but at the end of the day, he's going there to support his dad."

Harry will reportedly skip a 'key' coronation event.

While Harry will be there to watch his father being crowned, he will reportedly leave the UK before the King's coronation concert on May 7.

According to the Sun, Harry will skip the 'key event', which will include performances from Katy Perry, Take That and Lionel Richie, and rush back to the US hours after the coronation ceremony.

A royal source reportedly told the Mirror, "After much back and forth, Harry said that he would be returning for the King’s Coronation but it will only be a fleeting visit."

"Organisers have been told Harry won’t be attending the concert with the rest of the Royal Family, which is a great shame as it will be such a spectacular event."
