Hangover beauty products exist - but do they really work?

All the ibuprofen/powerade/sleep in the world might help to dull your hangover on the inside, but sometimes we need a little extra helping hand for the outside, too.

We all have our go-to products for those under-the-weather days (thanks, concealer). However, you might not realise there are beauty buys out there that are specifically designed for your hungover face. Yes, really.

We recently put then to the test — you know, in the name of science and all of that.

Skyn Iceland Skin Hangover Kit.

It also smells great and foams up quickly, which I love. I was left with silky soft super clean hair, despite the fact I used half a can of hair spray the night before.

Too Faced Hangover Primer

Ugh, I can't even with this primer. It is magical. It will seriously replenish your hungover skin while smoothing and brightening it. My skin was a little flakey before I put it on, et voilà: it was so smooth afterwards. It also has a subtle coconutty smell, which I am personally not opposed to. In fact, I am in full support of it.

Plus, if you're out and about when you're feeling a little worse for wear, this will make your makeup last all day long. Boom.

Rodial Super Acids x-treme hangover mask and x-treme acid rush peel.

While you're lounging in bed waiting for the roof to stop spinning and your stomach to settle, it's a prime opportunity to zap your skin out of the puffy, red, dehydrated state it's most likely in, and leave it feeling a million dollars.

These two products are pretty incredible. Super Acids Xtreme Acid Rush Peel contains azeliac acid, plus glycolic, lactic and fruit acids and probiotic technology. The peel left my skin feeling very, very soft and looking much more plump and hydrated.

The Body Shop Modern Gent's Rescue Kit.

This set contains Peruvian maca root, which works to hydrate the skin. The face protector and serum combine to achieve this result and are both really moisturising, thanks to the added Brazil nut oil. They smell delicious and left my skin feeling really hydrated as well as soft. Much needed for parched-hung-over-faceness.
