I’d never thought I’d say this but… Google Glasses are kinda cool. (Hello? Are you still there?)
Ok, let me explain before I lose you completely. The frames, which have so far only excited tech nerds, are now being used to reinvent make-up tutorials.
So if you’ve ever wished you could be backstage at a fashion show watching make-up artists up-close, now you can. And if you often go down YouTube make-up tutorial rabbit holes, prepare to be transfixed not by a beauty blogger staring into her webcam, but a model’s face UP CLOSE. Which is either a great or depressing thing. I can’t decide.
In a first for Australian beauty, L’Oreal Paris make-up director Elsa Morgan donned the specs at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival to do the ever tricky winged-eye. Watch how she does it from her perspective:
Haircare brand Matrix (also owned by L’Oreal) are also partnering with Google for their series of tutorials shot from stylists’ perspective. You can watch them here.
So Google Glass beauty tutorials, thumbs up or thumbs down?

Very cool - it would be even better if it had something that kept the filming steady. Maybe that's just practice using Google Glass? How do make-up artists always make this look so easy? Mine never looks like that, lol.
