Madonna apologies for racial slur on Instagram.

Madonna has been causing quite a stir on her Instagram account this year.

First came the penis shaped bong, then a photo of her 13-year-old son posing with alcohol, and now she’s taken it one step further.

The 55-year-old mother of four posted a photo of her son with former husband Guy Ritchie, Rocco, with the hashtag #disn*gga. However moments later the image was removed.

But that didn’t stop followers seeing it and labelling her racist, to which Madonna replied:

“Ok, let me start this again. #get off my d–k haters!”

The Material Girl apologised the following day, on Instagram:

Brynne Edelsten has ended her four-year marriage to Geoffrey Edelsten.

The 30-year-old reportedly told friends she was unable to forgive Edelsten for a reported affair with another woman more than 18 months ago.

According to News Ltd, “Edelsten was caught wooing an American woman on an online dating site and then lavished gifts on her during a secret three-day getaway in Florida in March 2012”.

Geoffrey, 70, has filed for bankruptcy in the United States and the pair reportedly attended marriage counselling in an attempt to save their marriage.

Congratulations are in order for Zara Philips and her husband, former rugby player Mikie Tindall, who have welcomed their first child into the world overnight.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement:

Mrs Michael Tindall today safely delivered a baby girl,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

Mr Tindall was present at the birth. The weight of the baby was seven pounds, 12 ounces (3.5kg).

The baby, the Queen’s fourth great-grandchild, is 16th in line for the throne. Which basically means that she needs a King Ralph situation to become Queen.

Regardless, we hope that Prince George enjoys his new playdate buddy.

She lets a pigeon rest on her head, wears head-to-toe feathers, perches on a bath tub in a gown like it ain’t no thang, piggy-backs Adam Driver around New York, and poses with her dog. We could not be more proud of the creator of our favourite show, Girls.

The Cate Blanchett photoshop fail everyone’s talking about

The 44-year-old Blue Jasmine actress is on the cover Vogue Australia this month and she looks, well, a lot more tan than usual. And uncannily smooth. Check out the difference here:

Obviously, Cate’s the victim of an over-zealous spray-tanner or Photoshop wizard, who made her porcelain skin unbelievably bronze. and wrinkle-free. This is what The Gloss have to say on the matter: “She’s so bronzed in this edition one couldn’t even call her sun-kissed. This look flew right past “glowing” and straight into Tan Mom territory. This is not a good look for her, and she’s been Photoshopped into a much older and less attractive woman than she normally is.”

Here’s the thing we don’t get: Cate Blanchett is naturally flawless and ethereal, with skin so radiant it could leave you blind if you look directly at her in real life. Why tamper with perfection?

This Aussie actor is going to need a mini-van to cart his kids around

Thor actor and Home & Away alumni Chris Hemsworth and his glorious Spanish wife Elsa Pataky are expecting TWINS! Their gorgeous little girl India Rose, who was born in 2012, will get two siblings… We don’t know yet if they’ll be brothers or sisters. But just one look at Hemsworth and Pataky indicates they’ll be incredibly beautiful to look at.

The Critics Choice Awards: red carpet recap

The 2014 Critics Choice Awards happened yesterday, which means two things. 1) The people that win are basically/almost/kind of guaranteed an Oscar and 2) There are some amazing frocks.

Our favourite? The fact that Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts are posing together AND wearing matching sunglasses. It is all shades of awesome.

Hillary Clinton’s TIME cover really sucks

She’s one of the most powerful, respected, intriguing, ambitious, intelligent, fabulous women on the planet. She deserves to be on the front cover of major magazines around the world.

Not to mention, she’s running the best non-campaign campaign for the 2016 presidential election ever.

And yet, this is the best TIME can do for a Hillary cover:

It looks like they Google Image-searched “woman’s shoe” and “tiny man” and then thought to themselves, “ah, fuck it, that’ll do.”

It’s insulting, and as The Gloss point out, it’s lazily reinforcing some pretty minsogynst views on powerful women: “One of the most frustratingly sexist stereotypes about women in the workplace is that the successful ones are ruthless, arrogant, ball-crushing bitches who stomp on the sad rich white guys who are just trying to make an honest living in a world where most things are biased in their favor. Poor men.”

As Hillary Clinton is one of our spirit animals, we’d really like to see her on a killer cover of TIME. Oh, and also as the leader of the free world, please?

You get an Oscar nomination! And you get an Oscar nomination! And… oh. Sorry, Oprah.

Oscar nominations are out. And, alas, Oprah will not be thanking the Academy while clutching a tiny golden man this year.

The star of The Butler is just one of many actors who didn’t receive a nod this season, with her co-star, Forest Whitaker, also missing out.

But in happy news, there are five Aussies nominated. FIVE!

Cate Blanchett, AKA movie-star perfection, is the favourite to win Best Actress for Blue Jasmine. There are two Aussies in the running for Best Costume – Michael Wilkinson nominated for his work on American Hustle and Catherine Martin nominated for her work on The Great Gatsby.

Martin is also nominated alongside fellow Australian Beverly Dunn for their work on Gatsby‘s production design. And, Dave Clayton has yet again been nominated for his visual effects work on the The Hobbit franchise.

Beyonce writes an essay on gender equality

Undisputed Queen of the Universe Beyonce Knowles Carter has written a mini essay (OK, it’s more of an extended comment) for a major American report on women’s rights.

Because, you know, the woman needed more hobbies to fill all her spare time when she’s not rocking out, hair flipping and generally being a goddess.

Here’s what Bey wrote for the Shriver Report:

We need to stop buying into the myth about gender equality. It isn’t a reality yet. Today, women make up half of the U.S. workforce, but the average working woman earns only 77 percent of what the average working man makes. But unless women and men both say this is unacceptable, things will not change. Men have to demand that their wives, daughters, mothers, and sisters earn more—commensurate with their qualifications and not their gender. Equality will be achieved when men and women are granted equal pay and equal respect.

Humanity requires both men and women, and we are equally important and need one another. So why are we viewed as less than equal? These old attitudes are drilled into us from the very beginning. We have to teach our boys the rules of equality and respect, so that as they grow up, gender equality becomes a natural way of life. And we have to teach our girls that they can reach as high as humanly possible.

We have a lot of work to do, but we can get there if we work together. Women are more than 50 percent of the population and more than 50 percent of voters. We must demand that we all receive 100 percent of the opportunities.

Newly single supermodel Miranda Kerr went strictly “No Underwear” for the Golden Globes after party, slipping into a seriously risqué Pucci gown. Channeling Liz Hurley’s infamous 1994 safety pin dress, Kerr’s frock was backless with a thigh-high split and seemingly held together by… well, magic, it seems.
