The simple idea that made a Melbourne woman $1 million in 24 hours.

Proving that sometimes the simplest ideas are the best ones, a Melbourne pharmacist is now a millionaire after inventing a new kind of soap.

Danielle Di Pilla wanted to help her customers treat frustrating skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis, so she created Goat soap and its accompanying range of skin and hair care products.

Goat products — made from goats milk — are hypoallergenic, which means they don't cause irritation for people with sensitive skin.

They've been a hit in Australia and now around the world.

In fact, Di Pilla recently sold $1 million worth in China in less than 24 hours during an online shopping festival.

"We’re very happy with the result; we did double (compared to) last year," she told news.com.au of the results from Alibaba’s Singles Day.

In Australia, Goat products are stocked exclusively by Chemist Warehouse, which was the top performing Aussie seller during Singles Day.

"Obviously it’s difficult to get into bricks and mortar stores in China, but we were able to leverage our relationship with Chemist Warehouse," she said.

"It’s opened up our product to the whole world."

All of Di Pilla's range are packaged and shipped from Victoria using goats milk from a farm in Traralgon, when she came up with the idea in 2011, she had no idea how popular they'd be.

"There wasn’t a natural product that I was satisfied with that I could recommend for people with sensitive skin," Ms Di Pilla said.

"So I started to research the alternatives that I could offer, and found that goats milk had therapeutic qualities."

There are now more than 40 products in the range which includes body washes, lotions, creams, shampoo and conditioner and a "world first" goats milk sunscreen.

"It was born from an idea and it just evolved."
