The latest hair trend is one none of us saw coming.

Here’s something you probably didn’t know: You can now actually dye your own hair so it glows in the dark and we have officially hit peak hair-trends crossed with science crossed with wow.

Think I am joking or exaggerating? Then check this one out.

The latest technicolor trend in our newsfeeds is one called Phoenix Hair, and it’s not the kind of trend you’ll be able to simply brush on your hair at home, in the bathroom, alone.

Instead, it’s one that has been created by self-confessed Hair Activist celebrity hairstylist Guy Tang, who created a YouTube video of his newest invention.

In order to achieve the look, Tang’s very own hair model endured quite the transformation to ensure her locks shone bright under the dark lights.

First, he bleached her hair a kind of platinum blonde, overlapping the foils to make sure every strand of hair was treated.

After that pain-staking process was complete, Tang took some bright colour and thick applicator to the hair, applying the pink first and then creating a colourful ombre to the ends.

As a means of achieving the high-octane look, Tang used Kenra Professionals Color Creative Neon Collection to create a swirl of  orange, red, yellow, and purple neon pigment.

Because obviously it's not your average products that will create this look.
