This is English poet, Mark Grist, explaining what he looks for in a romantic partner:
And that sound you just heard was the MM Team’s respective hearts exploding.
“I like girls who read.” *Swoon*

I wish more women were attracted to us more 'nerdy' guys Seems like if I don't gave a six pack and plenty of money I don't exist. The fact I constantly read ( am reading 3 books at once ATM) and caring mean nothing.
Sounds like you're going for the wrong women.
I actually love the 'nerdy' guys - my fiancee is a programmer who has lans with his friends instead of going clubbing, who reads fanfic on the way to work, loves scifi more than any other genre, who doesnt do any kind of physical activity unless its necessary (but he has a high metabolism, so hes still thin enough for me to mad thats hes thinner than me lol). He was teased in highschool for being a 'nerd' and a 'geek', was the dux of his school and still knows more about most things than most people I've come across. He often laments that most girls think of geeks and nerds as 'cute' in the way that you wanna be their friend and chat to them, but not date them because they aren't 'manly' enough - but I'll say the same to you as I do to him - If thats what you've come across a majority of the time, you're chasing the wrong girls. Or, as I know was the case with my partner and his friends who are, as a lot of 'nerdy' guys are, a bit shy or into subtleties, never actually flat out asked any of those girls out, and then wondered why they went out with the 'mans man' who did ask them instead. Who wants a girl who only cares about looks, or your job, or your income anyway? You should be glad those kind of women don't look your way. Also, those guys that women date who seem to be all muscles and shiny cars, are usually not as 'cool' as they make themselves out to be, and its usually the dorky stuff that their girlfriends like about them most.
My man is a total nerd. Built his own computer, has a bookshelf that rivals my own and watches physics videos on Youtube for fun. I love him :) You'll find someone!
What about reading online text but never a book cover to cover?
I realized I read quite a lot, just I haven't done a cover to cover since primary school. ADHD. I read a lot of wiki, technical guides/textbook stuff, forum posts on building stuff, ooodles of internet comments (a goldmine of information for learning about people if you read social issues sites like this). I tend to read pages in weird orders in textbooks, like a section at the back, then middle, then back, middle, front, all over the place.
I try to read books cover to cover but usually lose interest after a few pages or get distracted and never read it again.
