Re: #7 I hope that we are not looking back in the near future and saying 'why was he released?!' why are the predators rights put about the safety of the community?
Are you guys going to cover all the offensive signs at the anti Abbott rally? You know, in the interest of equality and all that?
(1) It was already discussed in great detail in another post;
(2) the "offensive" signs were a tiny minority of the signs;
(3) Who cares? It's a rally, not a tea party. People are allowed to be pissed off, and don't need to be polite;
(4) MM is a blog site that does opinion pieces. It's not, and never has claimed to be, an unbiased journalistic news website;
(5) a couple of rude signs are not newsworthy, compared to everything else happening both locally and internationally. If you're honestly concerned about a lack of coverage of the topic, it only shows how very privileged we are here that that might be concerned a news topic. (Btw, before you make Gillard comparisons, the criticism with them was that they were sexist. Sexism, like racism or homophobia, is unacceptable and needs to be called out. A 'mean' sign about someone does not.)
Man, who cares? You don't have bigger things to worry about? They already covered it AND mamamia isn't a news website so not need to be unbiased. Get over it.
so calling someone an abortion or saying they should be killed or simulating decapitating someone (of the right) is all together more acceptable than calling a woman of the left a witch. Right, with you now.
yeah sure, except I never recall anyone on here saying 'man who cares' about the witch sign for Julia. Indeed, MM cared a lot, and that file picture was used on here as evidence of unfairness against Julia about 100 times. Funny how it turns to 'who cares' when it is against Abbott
