Not a drill: A 'Gilmore Girls' reunion really is on the cards.

Gilmore Girl’s fans be warned: this post may induce heart palpitations.

Let’s not beat around the bush (or coffee pot) any longer – the Gilmore Girls IS RETURNING TO OUR TV SCREENS.

Ok, more accurately: According to one of the stars, the Gilmore Girls could, very likely, quite possibly, almost definitely be returning to our TV screens.

During Wednesday’s episode of the “Gilmore Guys” podcast – if you didn’t know there was such a podcast, you need to get on board – Luke Danes, AKA Scott Patterson hinted, teased and taunted a reunion of the show.

As Lorelai would say, “Oy with the poodles already!”

Watch the video below in case you’ve forgotten the brilliance of this Lorelai Gilmore moment. (Post continues after video…)

Luke, sorry force of habit, Patterson said, “I will say this, there are talks going on at the moment.”

“I can’t really go into any details, but there is some activity. I’m hopeful, and I’m in. I think it would be a big event, and I think it would be a great fan celebration.”

Just knowing that “talks” are happening will be enough to hold the cynicism in our coffees for the next few months.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Patterson is holding off to make the life changing announcement at the upcoming ATX Television Festival, in Texas, where the entire cast and crew will reunite for a panel discussion.

According the Huffington Post everyone will be there: Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Jared Padalecki (Dean), Liza Weil (Paris), Keiko Agena (Lane), Sean Gunn (Kirk), and Liz Torres (Miss Patty). Sounds like the perfect setting for an announcement. Right? RIGHT?

We don’t know if it’ll be a reunion, a movie or a season seven redo but we’ve already got the Chinese takeaway menus out and the coffee pot warm.
