We have gift registries for weddings, and we wouldn’t turn up to a birthday party or baby shower without a present under our arm.
As a culture, we are very good at celebrating the happy times. When things get tough, however, we’re not quite sure what we’re meant to do.
In case you missed it, Maureen O’Connor of the New York Post suggests we need gift registries for breakups. The emotional blow is one thing. But the logistics of then having to split all your shared furniture is just plain inconvenient.
