“It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.”

That’s how Golden Globes co-host Tina Fey introduced astronaut movie Gravity the other night. And if you think of the gorgeous model/actress/cocktail waitress types he usually dates, you can see what Tina was getting at.

So, we did an inventory of his past girlfriends and in Clooney’s defence, he totally got it on with some age-appropriate women back in the eighties. As we take you on a magical journey through the romantic history of the world’s foxiest silver fox, you’ll notice a something magical: As Clooney ages, his choice of attractive companion gets younger.

Let’s have a little retrospective perv, shall we?

Kelly Preston: 1 year younger than George

It’s 1987. This is in the time before E.R. and George is a 26-year-old unknown babe, dreaming of Hollywood. He hooks up with fellow actor Kelly Preston, 25, a model who was discovered in Australia when she was 16 years old. In 1988, they move in together and get a pet pig (yes, a PET PIG), but it’s all over a year later. Kelly gets into acting and ends up marrying John Travolta. George moves on…

Talia Balsam: 2 years older than George

Shortly after his break-up with Kelly, George gets together with actress Talia Balsam – the only woman ever to get George to put a ring on it. She’s also the only woman older than G.C. – when they got together she was 30 and he was 28. They were married in 1989, and got divorced till 1993. As you can see in this photo, she was ahead of her time with the sheer trend.

 Celine Balitran: 13 years younger than George

George lands his role in E.R., becomes a doctorly object of lust for all women with televisions and has a few brief casual flings. In  1993 he goes to Paris, where he meets Celine Balitran, a French waitress/Law student 1993. She’s 13 years his junior. They date for 3 years and she’s forever known as “that French chick George Clooney dated”.

 Lucy Liu: 7 years younger than George

Didn’t know they dated? Yeah, neither did we. It was the year 2000, and it was never officially “a thing”. Rumour had it they got it on in 2000 and again in 2005 and possibly 2006. They were spotted making out on New Year’s Eve 2005, and then never again.

 Lisa Snowdon, 11 years younger than George

In 2000, despite being linked to Lucy “Charlie’s Angel” Liu, Georgey boy starts dating British model/TV presenter Lisa Snowdon. We’re sure American-English relations were at an all-time high as a result. They date till 2005.

Renee Zellwegger, 8 years younger than George

Renee (AKA Bridget Jones) was probably George’s most famous gal, but they both vehemently denied being in a relationship. They attended events together in 2000 (2000 was a busy year for George, wasn’t it?) and 2006, but kept saying “We’re just friends, world. Settle down.”

Sarah Larson, 20 years younger than George

Fast-forward to 2008, and George is in Las Vegas when he falls for cocktail waitress/aspiring model Sarah Larson. He is 20 years older than her, and probably always will be.

Elisabetta Canalis, 17 years younger than George

In 2009, Italian model/total babe Elisabetta Canalis is spotted on the back of George Clooney’s motorcycle. She’s 17 years his junior, and they date till 2011 and then, Stacy happens.

Stacey Keibler, 18 years younger than George

Stacey Keibler is a retired professional wrestler (yes, really). Clooney and Stacey hit red carpets together for two years, ending their relationship in July 2013. She now has her own reality TV show, and appeared on Dancing With The Stars.
