George and his amazing fiance have made a public declaration that their wedding is imminent.
For those of you that were ever in doubt, we’re sorry to disappoint, but George Clooney is definitely tying the knot.
George, 53, and his fiancé Amal Alamuddin, 36, went to Chelsea register Office just over two weeks ago and announced their wish to marry by having their wedding banns posted.
The Mirror reports that the legal notice of an intention to marry must be displayed in public for 16 days before a couple is allowed to wed. They signed the documents in a meeting with the Superintendent Registrar, with George’s profession being listed as “actor and director” and Amal’s as “barrister”.
Posted alongside all of the other intentions to marry, the document reveals that the pair will likely wed next month in Italy, at George’s $45 million home by Lake Como. “They may be a celebrity couple, but they have to sign the same documents as everybody else” a source told the Mirror.
Amal works as a human rights lawyer at London’s Doughty Street Chambers and has represented Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
She’s also the smart girl’s style icon. Which makes us all very keen to see what she might wear when she marries the Clooney.
