A man has been arrested after uploading his own 'Wanted' poster on Facebook.

This one goes out to Mack Yearwood: a criminal who is either so beautifully apathetic about the prospect of time behind bars, or beautifully ignorant of the power of social media.

Either way, Yearwood has found himself in the hands of the law after posting his wanted poster on Facebook as his profile picture and subsequently — not to mention unsurprisingly — being found.

Look, what else is there to do when you’re in need of a new profile picture and the best photo taken of you in recent months is your mug shot? You shrug your shoulders and take the risk all in the name of vanity, we assume.

The Stuart Police Department wrote about Yearwood’s little slip up on their own Facebook page, posting a very tongue-in-cheek PSA to all other wanted criminals: Keep your wanted poster off Facebook if you’re desperate to remain hidden.

“Facebook is a great way to communicate and connect with old friends and family,” they began.

“If you are wanted by the police, it’s probably not a good idea to use the “Wanted of the Week” poster of yourself as your profile pic.

“Mack Yearwood must have thought differently.”

After stumbling upon the wanted poster on his Facebook, Stuart Police located Yearwood at his home. However, posting on Facebook wasn’t the only thoughtless and incriminating decision Yearwood made this year.

“On Tuesday, Stuart Police caught up with Mr. Yearwood and arrested him with two outstanding warrants. While he was taken into custody, he asked to put on a pair of jeans that were located on the floor beside him. Mr. Mack must have forgotten that his bag of marijuana was still in the pocket.”

Although initially being wanted for two counts of battery, according to Stuart police, he also managed to pick up an additional charge of possession of cannabis under 20 grams.

Interestingly, it did take police a matter of months to locate Yearwood, after he initially added the poster to his Facebook page back in March.

Friends were quick to compliment Yearwood on the image, with one friend observantly writing, "Nice mug shot," to which he replied, "Thanks buddy!"

Yearwood's niece also found herself surprised by the upload, asking her uncle if the poster was in fact real.

"Yeah unfortunately Summer...I'll get it taken care of eventually, but at least they won't come get me in Tennessee!"

Except they did. What famous, and permanent, last words.
