I apologise in advance for the fact that the Friends theme song will now be stuck in your head ALL DAY LONG.
Actually, that’s a bit of a lie. I’m not sorry, because it’s possibly one of the greatest theme songs in the history of television sitcoms.
That’s why it’s so shocking that Jennifer Aniston (aka Rachel Green, for those of you playing at home) has revealed that precisely NONE of the cast members were fans of the song.
Yep, Aniston says that neither Ross, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe or Joey took a particular liking to The Rembrandts’ hit I’ll Be There for You that played at the start of every single episode.
“No-one was really a fan of that theme song,” Aniston revealed during an interview with The One Show in the UK.
“We felt it was a little odd, dancing on a fountain, but we did it.”
It’s not all bad news, though: Jen did confess to watching old re-runs of the show when it pops up on her television screen.
“I can’t help it,” she confessed.
“First I try and remember which episode it is, I even say ‘I don’t remember that’ at first, and you just get sucked into the nostalgia of it.”
Us too, Jen, us too.
