A former porn star has taken to Twitter to give a heartfelt yet brutal warning for girls considering the industry.
Bree Olson, 28, retired from porn in 2011 after a career that has earned her over two million likes on Facebook, a huge following on Twitter and a name that will forever be associated with the industry.
In a post titled, “To all the young women that are interested in getting into porn” Olson’s letter comes as a sincere, heartfelt and open look into an industry that is notoriously closed.
“But trust me when I tell you not to do it,” She writes.
“When you do porn you automatically become a segregated part of society that is held to prejudice without the support of activists for your human rights.”
Olson goes onto discuss how working within the industry will ultimately change how you are treated for every year you work outside it.
“Porn isn’t bad – how people will treat you for the rest of your life is.” She writes.
The message doesn't stop at personal ramifications, either, as Olson is quick to show how porn will affect not just the future of the girls themselves but also their children.
"Also - it's so easy to f--k kids up. Do you really want them to go through their childhood with kids at school teasing them or parents not allowing their kids to have sleepovers at your house because you once did porn and they think you're running some kind of porn circus at your house." She writes.
